Players can only walk gently on the green and avoid running. At the same time, they need to raise their feet when walking to avoid scratches on the flat surface of the green due to dragging. Never drive a golf cart or trolley on the green, as this will cause irreparable damage to the green. Before going on the green, the clubs, bags, carts and other equipment should be left out of the green. Players only need to bring their putters on the green.
Repair the green surface damage caused by the falling ball in time. When the ball falls on the green, it often forms a sunken dent on the surface of the green, also known as a green ball mark. Depending on how the ball is hit, the depth of the ball mark is also different. Every player is obliged to repair the ball marks caused by his own ball. The method is: use the tip of the ball seat or the green repair fork to insert and dig up to the center along the periphery of the dent until the recessed part is flush with the surface, and then gently tap the bottom surface of the putter head to compact it. When players see other unrepaired ball marks on the green, they should also repair them if time permits. If everyone takes the initiative to repair the green ball marks, the effect is amazing. Don’t just rely on caddies to repair the greens. A real player always carries a green repair fork with him.
Don’t break the pushing line of others. When watching a TV broadcast of a golf event, you may have seen a professional player holding the putter grip on the side of the hole after putting the ball into the hole, and leaning on the putter to stoop to pick up the ball from the hole cup. You may find this action very stylish and want to follow it. But it is best not to learn. Because the club head will press the turf around the hole at this time, resulting in irregular ball path deviation, which will change the original rolling condition of the ball on the green. The deviation of the course on the green can only be determined by the course designer or the natural topography, not by the players.
Once the ball stops on the green, there is an imaginary line from the ball to the hole. Players should avoid stepping on the putt line of other players in the same group, otherwise it may affect the effect of the player’s putt, which is extremely impolite and offensive to other players.
Make sure that the partner who is pushing the ball is not disturbed. When the players of the same group are pushing or preparing to push the ball, you should not only not move around and make noises, but also pay attention to your standing position. You should stand out of the sight of the putter. At the same time, according to the rules, you cannot stand to push the ball. The push line extends to both sides of the line.
Will you take care of the flagpole?. Usually the work of taking care of the flagpole is done by a caddie. If a group of players is not followed by a caddie, then the player with the ball closest to the hole is the first to take care of the flag stick for the other players. The correct action to take care of the flagpole is to stand up straight and hold the flagpole with your arms straight. If there is wind on the field, you should hold the flag pole while holding the flag surface to fix it. At the same time, the time to remove and remove the flagstick should also be mastered. Unless the putter asks to remove the flagstick, it should usually be removed immediately after the player puts. Do not wait until the ball is close to the hole. In addition, when taking care of the flagpole, players should pay attention to their shadow not to affect the putter, and make sure that the shadow does not cover the hole or the line of the putt. Pull out the flagpole gently, first slowly turn the shaft, and then gently pull it out. If all players require the flagpole to be removed, it can be placed flat on the skirt of the green instead of within the green area. In the absence of a caddie to follow, the work of picking up and putting back the flagstick should be completed by the player who first pushed the ball into the hole after the last player’s ball has entered the hole to avoid delay. When putting back the flagpole, you also need to align the hole cup with gentle operation, don’t let the end of the flagpole pierce the turf around the hole.
Don’t stay on the green for too long. After the last golfer pushes the ball into the green in each hole, the players in the same group should leave quickly and move to the next tee. If you need to report the result, you can do it while walking, and don’t delay the next group from going to the green. When the last hole is played, golfers should shake hands with each other while leaving the green, thanking each other for having a good time with themselves.
